Kim Delaney was an American actor from the United States. The actress is best known for her character, Detective Diane Russell, in the ABC show NYPD Blue. For this she won an Emmy Award. Also, she is known for her role in the drama series All My Children Philly CSI: Miami and Army Wives. Delaney is the sole daughter of the United Auto Workers senior executive and domestic worker was raised by her four brothers and sisters. As a young girl, Delaney wanted to be a court-reporter. But in highschool the time came when she began modeling commercials, she moved to New York. She starred in 1981 as an innocent teenager in All My Children. Delaney appeared in a number of films, television movies as well as dramas in the years since. While she has a successful professional life, Delaney's private life isn't as successful and happy. The gifted actress was struggling to overcome addiction to alcohol, and was married twice only to fall apart. In 2005, she lost custody of her only son.
