Ari Lennox
Courtney Shanade Salter, aka Ari Lennox, was born in Washington, D.C. on the 26th of March in 1991. She's an American artist and songwriter, as well as the first artist signed by J. Cole to his record label Dreamville Records. The first album she released for the label on Oct. 21 2016 with the title Pho. It was then that she started to gain notoriety. Shea Butter Baby, her debut album, was released on the 7th of May, 2019. Ari Lennox released her music online in 2012 after she released her the Five Finger Discount mixtape and Ariography EP in 2013. The singer continued uploading her tracks online through 2014, which included the self-released single Bound. In 2015, she appeared in Omen's Elephant Eyes Album, which came out on the 21st July. it out on 21st July. J. Cole asked her to work with him on Rihanna's references. Later in the year, her music circulated throughout Dreamville. On December 8 she signed with Dreamville Records. Backseat was a track she co-wrote with Cozz for the collaborative album Revenge of the Dreamers II. On October 21 2016 she dropped her debut EP called Pho. Ari Lennox performed the song Change by J. Cole as well as opening The 4 Your Eyez Only Tour 2017, in which she accompanied by EarthGang. In 2018 she guest-starred on two tracks with her labelmates EarthGang for Nothing but the Best. and Bas on Icarus. Ari Lennox debuted her first single from Shea Butter Baby, Whipped Cream on 16 July 2018, which was released on July 16th, 2018. A music video was later released in September. She released her second single, Grampa on November 9. The 13th of November, she came out with two additional singles, One and Pedigree. One and Pedigree. The singer appeared alongside Cole in the Creed II Soundtrack on Shea Butter Baby, on November 16th, and made the track available in a solo version to the album she released her debut. A music video debuted 20 February 2019 in order in conjunction with the song. Within one time, it was viewed more than 3,000,000 views. In December 2018 she was an opening act for The From East Atlanta With Love Tour in conjunction with 6LACK.
